The kid I taught recently, had an issue where I knew he could swim, and he knew he was perfectly capable, but he kept stopping on the bottom, to take a break, fix his goggles, etc. I could not get through to him that you have to swim across the pool. He understood what I wanted, but the bottom was there, he wanted to stop, so why couldn he use the bottom?
